I am Dr. Vasilios Angelidis, and I have dedicated my professional career to Applied Informatics, with a particular specialization in the field of Management and Informatics in Hospitals. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience and deep knowledge in areas such as Knowledge Management, Hospital Information Systems(HIS), and the Business Process Reengineering(BPR). My experience has enabled me to make significant contributions to the healthcare sector and support the optimization of processes and systems that enhance the delivery of quality healthcare services.
I am pleased to possess a strong academic background, holding a degree (Laurea) in Computer Science from the University of Udine, a Master of Science in Finance and Financial Information Systems from the University of Greenwich, and my PhD in Information Systems from the Department of Production and Management Engineering at Democritus University of Thrace. This multi-layered education has given me the opportunity to delve into various aspects of informatics and management, allowing me to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application.
In parallel with my work in management, I have served as an academic, teaching in the Department of Production and Management Engineering at Democritus University of Thrace, in the Accounting Department of the International Hellenic University, and previously at Kavala TEI across all departments. Teaching for me is a way to share my knowledge and support the next generation of professionals in understanding the challenges and opportunities in the fields of informatics and management. I have also participated, both as an organizer and as a trainer, in numerous seminars for various public and private organizations, covering topics primarily related to applied informatics.
Today, I have the honor of serving as the Director of Administrative, Financial, and Informatics Services at the General Hospital of Kavala. In this role, I am responsible for overseeing all key administrative and financial processes of the hospital, ensuring that they operate efficiently and accurately. I also engage in research and development programs related to my areas of expertise, allowing me to continually push the boundaries of knowledge and innovation in the field of health information systems.
Another significant aspect of my work is research activity. I have participated in numerous research programs and have published many research papers in reputable scientific journals, while also presenting my work at international conferences.
